Winter themed celebrations and travel routes have been planned to cover the Mentougou's distinctive scenic spots, homestays and restaurants, so visitors can better appreciate what the district has to offer.
Mentougou abounds in cultural and tourism resources, and there is a big space for the development of winter tourism, says Yu Huafeng, head of the district.
The winter carnival aims to enrich local winter tourism experiences and promote industrialization, differentiation and branding of tourism in Mentougou, according to Yu.
At the launch ceremony, Mentougou government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Beijing culture and tourism bureau to deepen integrated development of culture and tourism in the future.
The district will strive to transform itself into an international mountain tourism, sports and leisure destination by upgrading its tourism infrastructure and introducing major culture and tourism projects in the future.
The district has 18 sites that have been named popular sites by netizens in 2022.
Intangible cultural heritage experiences and folk skits have also prepared for winter vacationers.
